Trail description
Depending on the flow, you might have to get your feet wet to reach the upper fall.
As you go up the rock you'll come to point where you have to cross the stream
Note: the trail has quite a few thorny plants all along, so walk carefully.
The trail starts in a Eucalyptus "forest" and crosses a small check-dam wall. Once you cross the check-dam you soon enter the forest and start ascending.
About 100 metres from the check dam you'll see a fork in the trail. If you turn right here, you'll reach the stream. You can choose to chill here, but the waterfall is a bit ahead. So turn back and rejoin the trail going up.
Another 100 metres from the stream "chill" spot you'll see another fork. Turn right here to reach the base of the lower waterfall.
To reach the upper waterfall, you head back to the fork and take a right. After passing through a bushy and grassy patch and come out on open rock.
You go up the rock section of the trail to a point where you have to cross the stream. When there’s a lot of water in the stream, crossing the stream here under the jamun trees might be a bit tricky. So, if you’re not confident, take your shoes off and carefully cross the steam while holdeing the rocks around.
Within a few meters of crossing the steam the rock gets pretty steep. You've been warned.
If you decide to go ahead you'll see a bunch of bushes ahead of you. Here you’ll have to duck walk under some plants.
- And while you’re ducking, if you turn down-left you’ll reach the base of the falls.
- If you continue straight-right you go to the top of the falls.
At its peak the flow in the stream is pretty strong. And rocks around are all wet and slippery. So be careful while moving around. The water isn't very deep though, so don't be afraid of getting your feet wet.
🌦️ Season
May-Oct. But since the rains have been pretty unpredictable in the recent years, it's best to go if it has rained recently. Because the waterfall seems to dry up quite fast after it rains.
Wildlife
While I haven't noticed wildlife activity here. The forest around is very dense and I am sure wild animals are very active here, especially at night. So avoid dark hours.
Cleanliness
This spot isn't very popular, but you might find a plastic bottle or two littered around. It's mostly from local activity. I think a couple of cleanup treks every season should take care of it.
Water quality
The stream on which these waterfalls are located is very clean since the water comes from the forest on the hill, where there are no polluting sources. While the water might get muddy if it has rained recently it should be quite safe to shower in.
