Overview

Image

A short, easy trail through Eucalyptus and dense forest to a seasonal lower waterfall - best in and just after the monsoon, since it dries up fast.

🌦️ Season

May-Oct. But since the rains have been pretty unpredictable in the recent years, it's best to go if it has rained recently. Because the waterfall seems to dry up quite fast after it rains.

🐾 Wildlife

While I haven't noticed wildlife activity here, the forest around is very dense and I am sure wild animals are very active here, especially at night. So avoid dark hours.

Trail description

The trail to the lower waterfall is quite easy, though not easy to navigate without a map. So just follow the trail provided.

Note: the trail has quite a few thorny plants all along, so walk carefully.

The trail starts in a Eucalyptus "forest" and crosses a small check-dam wall. Once you cross the check-dam you soon enter the forest and start ascending. The stream is always on your right as you're going up.

About 100 metres from the check dam you'll see a fork in the trail. If you turn right here, you'll reach the stream. You can choose to chill here, but the waterfall is a bit ahead. So turn back and rejoin the trail going up.

Another 100 metres from the stream "chill" spot you'll see another fork. Turn right here to reach the base of the waterfall.

Note: You might meet locals having fun at the waterfall. Greet them with a smile! :)

At its peak the flow in the stream is pretty strong. And the rocks around are all wet and slippery. So be careful while moving around. The water isn't very deep though, so don't be afraid of getting your feet wet.

Cleanliness

This spot isn't very popular, but you might find a plastic bottle or two littered around. It's mostly from local activity. I think a couple of cleanup treks every season should take care of it.

Water quality

The stream on which this waterfall is located is very clean since the water comes from the forest on the hill, where there are no polluting sources. While the water might get muddy if it has rained recently it should be quite safe to shower in.
