Navigation and Exploration workshop
We will go for an easy hike while learning the basics of navigation and exploration.
- Getting your bearings.
- How not to get lost. Or how you find your way back when lost.
- Mental snapshots, Looking back
- Retracing
- Marking waypoints
- Taking photos (with geotagging enabled)
- Recording the trail for future use and sharing.
Fun Lunch and chill in water
In addition to learning new outdoor skills we will also eat lunch 🍲 on the trail and chill in water 🌊
Eligibility
This is for you if you:
- have basic fitness with the ability to walk 1-2 kms. We will choose a hiking area with easy terrain.
- want to learn how to navigate a previously marked trail using GPX
- want to learn how to explore a new place using digital tools.
Itinerary
- 6:00 am - Start from Bangalore
- 7:00 am - 🥣 Breakfast en route
- 8:30 am - Reach trailhead and kickoff the workshop with a briefing
- 12:30 pm - 🧭 Explore till 12:30 and find a spot to prepare lunch.
- 01:30 pm - 🐠 Rest or swim.
- 3:30 pm - Head back to the city
- Based on traffic you'll reach home around 5:30 pm
Transport
- We carpool so we share fuel + toll costs with the people getting their vehicle(s)
Inclusions
- 🗺️ Instruction on how to navigate and explore a new area
- 🧭 Safety and guidance on the trail
- 🗓️ Shreshth will help with planning transport/coordinating carpool

- Breakfast
- Transport (we carpool and share fuel + toll costs though)
Checklist
What to wear
- 👕 Comfortable t-shirt
- 👖 Full-length (hiking) trousers
- 🥾 Good grippy shoes
What to carry
- 🥛 2-3 liters of water in reusable water bottles
- 🍲 Dry Snacks/Fruits for the trail
- 🧂 Electrolytes (ORS/Fast&Up/Salt+Lemon)
- 🧢 Sunhat
- 🕶️ Sunglasses
- 💵 Cash
- 🎒 All of the above should fit in one backpack
